While you can have lots of fun dying eggs in numerous ways and using them to make fun Easter crafts and decorations did you know that you can also use the shells in some fun Easter egg creations? There is no presume to throw away your colored shells (even after the eggs have been eaten). You can use your Easter eggs in some fun and creative projects that only lengthen the fun of Easter. These Easter crafts can be done in an afternoon or can be part of an Easter craft party. Either way you will have lots of fun production them! So for some fresh new Easter craft ideas here are some ideas for Easter egg shell creations-
Chick in an Egg- This creative craft uses the halves of the egg that are left after you break open the egg. This craft works best using a raw egg that has been broken open rather then a blown or hard boiled egg.
What you will need:
Cotton balls
Egg shells
Glue gun
Paper
Black and orange paint
Paintbrush
Instructions for the project: Take the two cotton balls and glue them together. Take the egg, crack it and make sure all of the insides are cleaned out and then wash it well. You will want to make sure the egg is in equal halves as much as possible. Take the cotton balls and glue them to the inside of the dried egg. Using the glue gun make two limited dots as eyes on the cotton balls and paint them black. Take a piece of paper and cut out a beak and paint it orange then glue it on.
Shell Mosaic- This colorful craft is a great one for young crafters who do not need any developed crafting skills to make this.
What you will need:
Colored Egg Shells
Poster board
Glue
Instructions for the project: The first step is to make sure that you save all the shells you peel off your Easter eggs! Using your hands or something heavy break the colored egg shell pieces into small adequate pieces so that they are fairly flat. Have the child draw a fabricate on a dark piece of poster board. Using a cotton swab or an old paint brush and working in small sections liberally spread glue onto your design. Carefully stick the eggshell pieces, colored side up, onto the glue. Continue with this process until your fabricate is fully filled in with egg shells. Set the mosaic aside to dry completely.
Tips:
For very young children you can let them naturally apply the eggshells however they want without drawing a fabricate on first.
Egg Shell Candy Dish- This delightful dish can offer Easter treat to family and friends. In order to keep the dish from year to year you will need to varnish the shells and pack it away carefully.
What you will need:
A plastic or glass candy dish with a wide rim or flat base
Broken egg shells (they can be colored or white)
Craft glue
Instructions for the project: Take the egg shells (either peeled off of your colored Easter eggs or white ones) and break them into small adequate pieces that they lay flat. Liberally apply the glue where you want the eggshells attached and begin laying on the eggshells. This works best if you work on one section at a time. After you end you can add further garnish if you want (glitter, jewels etc) and cover the egg shells with a layer of varnish to help them stick. Let the dish dry completely.

If you are planning to have an Easter party it can be fun to consist of an Easter basket scheme as a fun craft to do while the party. This way you can have the kids occupied with something fun and best of all they have something no ifs ands or buts great to take home with them at the end of the party. You can also fill these crafts with goodies for a party favor which makes them extra special. Here are some Easter basket projects for Easter parties-
Woven Bunny Basket- This fun craft uses open weave small baskets (available at most craft stores) or you can recycle pint sized strawberry baskets.
What you will need:
A small basket with an open weave
Ribbon or precut foam pieces that measure the width of the open weave-Easter colors work especially well
A satin bow to tie on the handle
A tag for personalizing (optional) Instructions for the project: Give each child a basket and the precut ribbon or foam pieces. They can then begin weaving them straight through the open weave of the basket. Have them continue weaving until the whole basket is covered. Tie the satin bow onto the deal with and add a tag with their name on it if you want to.
Mini Easter egg baskets- These small baskets will charm your party guests with their springtime flair.
What you will need:

Nylon Monofilament

White Acrylic Paint and Brush Instructions for the project: Paint Styrofoam egg white and let dry completely. Cut two ears out of the craft foam. Make a small slit in the sides of the lambs head (the Styrofoam egg). Put a dab of glue on the ears and moderately push the ends into the slits. Tear apart some cotton balls and glue to the head of the lamb. Tie the ribbon into a bow and glue to the lambs head. thought about glue the cotton balls all around your holder covering it completely. After the basket is dry you can glue the egg to the side near the top to make a head. Cut a 1″ strip of craft foam and glue the ends to the sides to make a deal with for your basket.

What you will need:
Paper Mache or small wooden treasure box (available at most craft stores)
Paints in a collection of Easter colors
Paint and Foam Brushes
various decorating supplies (jewels, stickers, rub-ons, ribbon, markers etc.)
Glue Dots
Easter Grass
Plastic Eggs Instructions for the project: Have the child paint the whole treasure box and let dry completely. It is prominent to prop the lid open as it dries. After the treasure box is wholly dry have the child decorate the covering as they desire. Add some grass and plastic eggs.

Glue Dots
Easter Grass
Plastic Eggs Instructions for the project: Have the child paint the entire treasure box and let dry completely. It is important to prop the lid open as it dries. After the treasure box is completely dry have the child decorate the outside as they desire. Add some grass and plastic eggs.
